Terrington St Clement Community School

A traditional school with traditional values

Letting the school know if your child is unwell

If your child is not attending school due to sickness or a medical appointment please ring and leave a message on the school answer phone stating your child's name, class and reason for absence.

You only need do this on the first day of absence. However, if your child is not able to return to school by the following Monday, please call again.

If a phone call has not been received, office staff will endeavour to contact home to find out why your child is not in school. If a message is left on your phone and you do not call the school to explain the reason for the continued absence, this will be marked as unauthorised.

If your child has been prescribed antibiotics and feels well enough for school, we can now adminster these for you. All you need to do is to complete a form (available from the office) stating the dose and time your child needs the medication.

Medication cannot be kept in a fridge as it needs to be locked in the first aid cabinet. However, it can be kept chilled by putting it in a container with an ice pack.

Please click on the PDF document below to see the guidance on infection control in schools and other childcare settings.
