WOW day Survivors Jan 2016
Currently, we are focusing on survival in the Arctic and colder climates.
To kick-start this, the children took part in our WOW Day to inspire and educate them. A real-life explorer visited the school, firstly giving us all a talk on his trips to different parts of the Arctic: Greenland, Norway and Canada. He then took each class for a map reading and orienteering lesson. The children absolutely loved it, and were thoroughly engaged.
Throughout the day they also learnt how to prevent illness and critical conditions in the Arctic, such as hypothermia and frostbite; and watched an informative documentary on penguins.
