We were visited today by some stick insects! Harry thought they were “Awesome!” The children found out that they had ‘sticky’ feet to help them climb, 6 legs, antennae to help them find their way about, tiny eyes, lay eggs and came from different parts of the world (none found in UK).
They also looked at a spider ‘casing’ from a tarantula. It was huge and hairy and when it had shed the skin, the spider had left the fangs behind! The children found out that it had 8 legs which joined on where its head was! It also had antennae, laid eggs and came from another country. Click here to see some more photographs.
