Library

Welcome to St Clement Community School Library.

Mrs Bragg has been working as our librarian since November 2020.

She runs the after school story time club for KS1 on a Monday and Tuesday and KS2 on a Thursday.

With the help of Mrs Coates on a Wednesday she runs the homework club.  This is by invitation only and teachers decide who would benefit.

The KS1 story time clubs have a year 6 librarian to help out at each session.

Sessions start with calming music, squash and a biscuit and then Mrs Bragg reads a poem which is either topical or relevant to the time of year/weather.

The books that are read to the children are usually a chapter book and after this they do a related activity such as drawing, a word search or a game.

Mrs Bragg has been applying for free books, posters and bookmarks for the library through various websites and agencies.  She has been successful on many occasions and these books are now on the library shelves to share with the children.  So far she has received approximately 50 books.

One of the books she was gifted was a hardback copy of the Ghost Cloud by Michael Maan which she read to the KS2 story time club children.  The children were inspired to create drawings about the story which are displayed in the library.  Using her Instagram account librarian_sue, she tagged the author Michael Mann in the post.  He then contacted Mrs Bragg and sent a video to thank you children which you can see below.
