In every subject, our pupils start a new topic or theme by completing an unaided piece of work. The staff then use the information from this unaided piece of work to see where there are gaps in the pupils' learning.
At the end of each unit, staff record the amount of progress made by each pupil.
In practical subjects such as PE, a video is taken of the pupils before they have been taught a unit of work. Another video is taken at the end of the teaching to see how much progress the pupils have made.

We do this for all areas in practical subjects to measure the progress made.
