Comments from a parent after Year 3 parents lunch
Dear Miss Hackett
I know I spoke to you briefly last Wednesday about the above lunch but I wanted to put something in writing for both you and the staff.
I really just wanted to thank everyone involved for letting us have the opportunity to join our child for lunch. The lunch was absolutely delicious and I was impressed with the quality and the quantity.
I was also impressed with how lunchtime was organised and it was good to see what a social occasion it was for all the children participating.
I am grateful to have had the opportunity to come in and spend some time with Aiden and see part of his school day that I usually get to know very little about.
Many thanks again, to all concerned.
Feedback to Governors – Parents’ Evening
The governors would like to thank all parents who shared their views with us at the recent parents’ evenings. It helps us understand your views and push the school improvements.
We found the feedback was predominantly positive. Children were happy at school and parents were pleased with the progress they were making and with the standard of teaching. Also, it was felt teachers are responding well to children’s needs. The display corridor had caught many parents’ attention and show cases the hard work which has been undertaken. Thank you to the staff for spending the time to show case the children’s work in this way, it really is something special.
A few new parents to the school commented how quickly their children had settled and how educationally they have progressed whilst being at Terrington St.Clement Community School. The governing body are very pleased to hear that transition from other schools is successful. It was noted that teachers or teaching assistants (TA’s) are standing at the entrance doors in the mornings so children cannot just come out of school in the morning unnoticed. In addition, when issues have been reported home this has been useful so that the parents can support. Issues that occur in school are dealt with appropriately.
Take a look at some of the other comments made by parents
"I would like to say that I am enjoying receiving the 'What I have done today' sheets from the nursery. It is very informative and allows me to talk to my son about what he was doing as well as jogging his memory.
I would also like to comment on the introduction of Mathletics to Key Stage 1. My son loves to complete this and it allows me to support at home developing his skills. I have seen such an improvement with the use of this fantastic tool.
Finally, I would like to say how pleased I have been with the regularity of the reading being monitored/ listened to. He finds this more difficult that the other key skills and we are quickly seeing progress.
Thank you for all the hard work all the staff do." From a parent with a child in EYFS and Year 2
"I can't believe how calm the school feels." - from a prospective parent looking round.
"It's the little things like this that make the school the good school it is."
